Do you have a desire to gain skills and experience as a Youth Worker and make a difference with youth in South Auckland?

APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN FOR JOINING PACT AS AN INTERN IN 2025!

About PACT

Papatoetoe Adolescent Christian Trust has been working with young people in the local schools and community for nearly 30 years. Our vision is to support rangatahi to soar. We are a unique faith based youth organisation as we work with at risk young people from 6 through to 18 both in local schools and in our own programmes that we run from our community building.

The DNA of the organisation has always been based on the Christian faith, but our services are available to youth (and their families) of any religion or ethnicity. For many PACT has long been more than just a local community organisation but a place where whanaungatanga (a family-like connection) is created.

One of our six values is FUN so as well as being a challenging, supportive team environment we also like to have fun as a team and with our young people.

About the Internship

The PACT internship is an opportunity for people who are keen to move their career in the direction of youth development in South Auckland. It is our hope that following the internship year, graduates will be on their way to a career in Youth Work. You will have the opportunity to gain experience in all the different programmes that PACT runs giving you a great base for your next step in Youth Work.

There also may be a job available at PACT for interns that have successfully graduated.

Interns will join the staff team at PACT, work hard, learn lots, make a difference in young people’s lives and have fun along the way too.

As part of the internship, you will complete the Careerforce Certificate in Youth Work which is self-paced online learning.

You would be expected to do four hours of study a week and a minimum of 20 hours of practical work alongside our Youth Workers. You would receive a small weekly allowance.
